Drop-in sessions for coastal defence scheme in Tipner

PLANS for the next stage of coastal works will be on display at drop-in sessions.

People in Portsmouth can look at the coastal defence scheme for Tipner as well as meet the team behind the project.

The new project will rebuild the deteriorating sea wall from the Mountbatten Centre, Twyford Avenue, to the Ports Creek roundabout.

To reduce the risk of flooding to properties, the wall will be increased in height by up to 1.4m and the footpath behind the seawall will also be raised.

The footpath and cycleway along Tipner Lake will be improved as well as new seating and picnic areas put in.

The work will take place in three phases between April and September this year, and in 2018 and 2019.

The drop-in sessions are on February 23 between 1pm and 8pm at the Mountbatten Centre, and on February 28 from 2pm until 8pm at the Howard Road Community Centre, in Hilsea.
