SUPER swimmer Anna Wardley has been recognised for her sterling efforts by the Mayor of Gosport.

Anna, 37, from Alverstoke, Gosport, was invited to a reception celebrating her successful Five Island Swim Challenge, which finished in September when she swam around the Isle of Wight.

The mayor, Councillor John Beavis, presented Anna with the Gosport Borough Crest and a Gosport Borough mug. The endurance swimmer in turn presented Gosport with a framed picture of herself just off the Needles during her final swim.

As reported, Anna swam around the island of Dragonera off Mallorca, Portsea Island, Jersey, and much of Tiree as part of the challenge.
