'˜Exciting' plan to regenate Portsmouth's urban areas is launched

A STRATEGY to try and regenerate Portsmouth's urban areas has been launched.

Professionals, academics and industry representatives came together to discuss the city’s future prospects.

The event, staged at LandRover BAR headquarters by the University of Portsmouth, saw academics, professionals and industry experts coming together.

It was also an opportunity to reveal the university’s estates masterplan – a vision to enhance the city’s university quarter, which would represent a £400m investment over a 15-year period.

Organiser Professor Steffen Lehmann said the plan was ‘exciting’, and would first focus on improving the quality of public spaces, as well as footpaths and cycle routes across the city.
