RESIDENTS have spoken highly of an exhibition showing a coastal plan for Fareham and Gosport.

The Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership (ESCP), on behalf of Fareham and Gosport Borough Council, was at the Discovery Centre yesterday.

All afternoon, people were invited to see the ESCP’s plans to stop coastal flooding and erosion over the next 100 years.

Betty Green, who lives near Forton Lake, was impressed with the coastal strategy.

She said: ‘The plans are easy to understand which I like.

‘It is very good that we can see what might happen with flooding and what they plan to do to stop it.’

Stevyn Ricketts, client manager for Gosport on the ESCP team, said it was good to hear residents’ thoughts.

‘It is important that we ask the public what their views are,’ he said.

‘We have received positive feedback about the plans and the presentation of them.’
