Suella Fernandes, MP for Fareham, sat down with Theresa May in parliament to lobby the Conservative leader for improvements such as the long-sought after Stubbington Bypass and for improvements on the M27, notably at Junction 11.

A decision on the bypass is expected to be released in the autumn statement later on this month.

Both Miss Fernandes and Gosport’s MP Caroline Dinenage have called for the funding to secure the implementation of the bypass in the last year.

Following the meeting, Suella said: ‘It was great meeting with the prime minister and having the opportunity to discuss with her some of the issues that really matter to people in Fareham.

‘Transport and infrastructure strains are one of the top concerns of people in Fareham and a priority for me.

‘At the meeting I raised the ongoing need for urgent improvements to the M27 and I also talked of the need for funding to be guaranteed for the proposed Stubbington Bypass.’
