‘A huge waste of time and money’ – Portsmouth fails to send councillor to transport meeting

Have your say

PLANS by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service to save £2.5m have been backed by West Sussex County Council.

The service says changes to the crewing systems at some stations will mean reductions in staffing can be made without compulsory redundancies.

There will also be a reduction in middle managers to save cash but there will be no fire station closures and no retained firefighters will be lost. The decision will come into effect from October 19 after being agreed by the county council.
