A BUSY footpath is likely to remain closed for several months.

Havant Borough Council closed the path under the railway bridge in North Street, Emsworth, because an adjoining wall was in danger of collapsing.

Sally Foster, a council spokeswoman, said: ‘The wall has no recorded owner, therefore a variety of legal and technical issues will need to be resolved.’

She said the council was working towards the wall being demolished and rebuilt.

‘Pedestrians are asked to follow the diversion,’ she added.
