SHEDS and fencing will be demolished and replaced with a garage, despite objections from three neighbours.

Councillors on Fareham Borough Council’s planning committee agreed to allow the development at Brooklands Quay in Swanwick Shore Road, Swanwick.

Property owner Dan Van Gelder said the development would be more attractive and allow him to store equipment he needs to maintain the grounds.

Neighbours were concerned about the loss of their view due to the height of the new building – 5.8m.

Officers said the nearest neighbour was more than 30m from the proposed garage.

Mr Van Gelder said he had liaised with his neighbours and had no intention of installing windows in the building, meaning none will be overlooking.

Councillors unanimously agreed to permit the development at yesterday’s meeting.
