That’s the message from a 15-year-old who spent a week with two councils.

Georgia Taylor, a student from St John’s School in Wiltshire, spent a week working with various departments at East Hampshire District Council and Havant Borough Council, discovering the different job roles they perform.

From working with customer services to visits with the coastal team in Havant, Georgia experienced first-hand the wide range of services provided by local authorities.

Georgia said: ‘I particularly enjoyed the morning I had with the marketing team, who showed me some of their work and how they made their campaign brief.’

Sandy Hopkins, chief executive of the two councils, said: ‘Due to the expanse of
services councils across the UK are responsible for, it makes for the perfect place to go to experience a variety of job roles.’
