FLY-TIPPING fears have been found unwarranted after a council changed the way it collects rubbish.

Gosport Borough Council stopped picking up household rubbish from bags and instead brought in wheelie bins.

Back in October there were fears the move would increase fly-tipping.

But the council’s chief executive Ian Lycett reassured a scrutiny meeting on Wednesday that had not happened. He said: ‘It went very well from day one.’
