Gosport council approves new business units for Daedalus

COUNCILLORS unanimously approved an application for four new business units at Daedalus.

The regulatory board on Gosport Borough Council was in favour of the two applications, which will see one 2,751sq m industrial unit built along with three other units, one of which will be 18 metres high.

Developer Tidebank will now start the construction at Daedalus Park in the enterprise zone.

A spokesman said they hope to start construction of Hermes, a 10m-high two-storey building, and Illustrious, the 2,751sq m unit, soon with a view to handing them over to their new owners later this year.

The other two buildings Pegasus and Theseus, are hoped to be started in 2017.

As previously reported in The News, one letter of objection was received which had concerns about parking provision, noise and the impact on the environment.

A total of 120 parking spaces will be built alongside the buildings, which will have a mixed use of business, general industrial and storage and distribution.
