STAFF at Gosport Borough Council raised hundreds of pounds for charity by wearing denim for a day.

Workers at Gosport’s town hall in High Street took part in the Jeans for Genes day, which raises cash for the research of genetic illnesses in children and ways to find a cure.

Co-ordinator Brenda Brooker said: ‘I was delighted with the response from the staff and I hope that our contribution helps in some small way in finding cures for the many genetic disorders found in children.’

In total, they raised £264.
