CAROLINE Dinenage has been elected to sit on Parliament’s select committee for science and technology.
The Gosport MP was chosen by MPs as the new member of the committee, which scrutinises the work of the government on science and technology issues.
It has recently held investigations into alcohol guidelines, the use of science in international development and the government’s role in promoting engineering.
Ms Dinenage said: ‘I am honoured to have been elected to the committee and look forward to making a significant contribution to its work. Select committees have a vital role in examining legislation and proposing reforms.
‘I’ll work hard to ensure we put science, technology and research at the heart of government policy.’
