Gosport MP welcomes funding to fix potholes

FUNDING to fix potholes has been welcomed by Caroline Dinenage.

The Gosport MP is pleased the government is spending £1.4m to fill 28,075 potholes in Portsmouth and surrounding areas.

The funding is available to councils as part of the government’s £250m Pothole Action Fund included in last month’s budget. It aims to fill four million potholes by 2020/21.

Ms Dinenage said: ‘This new funding is welcome news for Gosport residents who greatly rely on our roads to get around.

Potholes can be a real frustration for drivers so I am pleased the government is taking clear action to improve the state of our roads.

Investing in our infrastructure, both nationally and locally, is also really important for our economy and can help attract businesses to the area.’
