GOSPORT MP Caroline Dinenage will visit a sailing club which she believes is helping to boost the local boating industry.

Ms Dinenage will stop by at Hornet Sailing Club, in Haslar Road, Gosport, on Saturday, January 19.

She will be shown around the grounds of the members-only club, which was founded by the Royal Navy in 1964, before holding a meeting.

She said: ‘Gosport peninsular has all the ingredients necessary to make it the south coast’s premier marine and sailing destination. This is something Gosport already excels at – we have an enormous amount of expertise in the marine industry right on our doorstep, so the economic potential is huge.’
