Gosport Tories say NHS management '˜needs to be reformed'

THE way the NHS is managed needs to be overhauled before fresh cash can be pumped into supporting the service, a political body has said.

Tories in Gosport have called for the reforms in a bid to plug cash wastage and improve how the NHS is run.

Members made the point during the latest meeting of the Conservative's policy forum in the town, attended by Gosport MP and health minister Caroline Dinenage.

Talking of the meeting, forum chairman David Gary, said: '˜It's about getting new ideas, working them through and reporting to the appropriate minister. The meeting felt that it may also be the case that the country needs to look at what the NHS actually does, and perhaps refine its remit in future years.'

Other topics discussed included charges for missed GP appointments and the strain on GP services locally.
