Hampshire County Council transport boss makes assurances to chase funding

THE new transport boss at Hampshire County Council has made reassurances he will chase the government for money to complete road schemes.

Councillor Rob Humby, who took over from Councillor Sean Woodward, said: ‘It’s a very competitive process to win money to improve transport infrastructure. Our overall aim is to make sure we have the funding in place so the whole of Hampshire has a transport network fit for the 21st century.’

Schemes include the Stubbington Bypass as well as an extension to the bus rapid transit route in Gosport.
