A DECISION on whether a council should keep footing the bill for CCTV coverage was deferred.
After discussions in private, the Conservative cabinet of Havant Borough Council decided to defer the decision to a later date.
CCTV cameras cost the authority around £154,000 a year to run.
The authority has asked the police – one of the main users of the footage – to contribute to the bill, but the force has said it cannot afford it.
A scrutiny team has recommended the council continues paying for the CCTV.
