AN MP has welcomed figures showing more than 200 home purchases in Fareham have been assisted by the government’s Help to Buy scheme.
Fareham MP Suella Fernandes said she was pleased that the scheme, which sees the government provide a loan for up to 20 per cent of a property’s value to people saving to buy their own home, had been used by 208 families in her constituency. And 120,000 loans have been made nationwide in three years.
Miss Fernandes said: ‘Owning your own home is an important aspiration for many people, but they often need a little help to get there. The scheme has been a great success, and I’m pleased to see it has helped so many people in Fareham.’
