TWO members of a parish council have stepped down.

Husband and wife Michael and Sarah Homewood have resigned from Horndean Parish Council.

Mr Homewood represented Murray ward, while his wife represented Hazleton and Blendworth ward.

A council statement said: ‘The chairman of the council councillor Lynn Evans expressed her gratitude for the enthusiasm and dedication shown by both Mr and Mrs Homewood.

‘They both sat as members of the planning committee and presented many reports that serve as an example of good practice and skill.

‘The dedication shown and work Mr Homewood carried out on the Footpath 26A project was greatly appreciated and will serve as a permanent reminder of his service to the community.’
