THE hearing into whether a new estate can be built has been adjourned.

The government’s planning inspector Philip Asquith heard three days of evidence on the case of 131 homes on land north of Goldring Close, Hayling Island.

It is an appeal against Havant Borough Council’s decision to turn down the application by Tolcarne Drive Developments last summer.

The appeal will resume at Havant’s Public Service Plaza at 10am on June 6 for summing up from both parties.
