IT is the seat everyone is talking about – and tonight voters will get the chance to meet and put questions to the candidates standing in Portsmouth South.
Issues around the constituency will be discussed at a hustings organised by The News at the University of Portsmouth’s Portland Building, in Portland Street, Portsea, from 6.30pm.
Visitors are being asked to arrive by 6pm.
The event is being held in conjunction with Coffin Mew, and follows other hustings which have taken place for the Portsmouth North, Havant, Fareham and Gosport constituencies.
The debates have been held in the run-up to the general election so people have the chance to find out more about the people running for the position of MP before polling stations open on May 7.
The News has already identified some of the key issues surrounding Portsmouth South.
They include; the need to clean up the constituency’s image in light of the Mike Hancock scandal, improving the seafront, addressing traffic and parking problems and the future of healthcare.
