NEW plans to move one of the area’s most popular nurseries will be on display.

Keydell Nurseries has been operating in Havant Road since 1981 and in the area for more than 100 years.

But the family who own it want to move two miles away to Mays Coppice Farm in Rowlands Castle and sell the current site – which has been earmarked for 160 homes – to developers.

In August East Hampshire District Council turned down the Rowlands Castle plans but owners, the Strange family, have come back with a more detailed proposal despite strong opposition from people concerned that the entrance on busy Whichers Gate Lane will be dangerous.

Residents were given the first chance to see the new proposals at an exhibition in Rowlands Castle Parish Hall last night and there is another chance tomorrow at the same venue from 10am to 4pm.

Interested parties will be able to fill out feedback forms ahead of a new application which will be submitted later this year.
