A WOMAN who has worked tirelessly for the community is set to be given a high honour.

Jenny Wride, who served as a councillor for Bedhampton for many years, will be given the title of Honorary Alderman of the Havant borough.

Councillors voted to give her the honour in recognition of her ‘eminent service’ to the council over and above a councillors’ normal duties.

Mrs Wride has spearheaded the Manor Trust in Bedhampton, which helps to care for the elderly.
