BUSINESSES across Hampshire should be taking advantage of a £60m grant scheme for rural entrepreneurs, an MP says.

George Hollingbery, who represents Meon Valley, is urging people to take a look at a new scheme that allows rural businesses to apply for grants from £25,000 to more than £1m each, with the objective of helping the local economy.

He said: ‘This government announcement is a great opportunity for rural entrepreneurs to get some substantial help with their ideas and help the rural economy to create jobs and wealth.

‘At the moment it’s extremely difficult for any business to get loans and with rural businesses it can be even more so.’
