A GOVERNMENT minister visited childminders in Portsmouth to discuss the important work they do.

Childcare minister Sam Gyimah went to Buckland Children’s Centre to meet childminders Lorraine Meehan, Kara Jewell and Tracy Norris, of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years. Mr Gyimah said: ‘We want as many childcare options to be available to families as possible – and childminders are an important part of that choice. It’s always great to get feedback from those who provide childcare and provide an important role in supporting families.’
