More than 2,500 in Portsmouth area sign pro-Donald Trump petition
The petition, posted on the government’s e-petition site, says the President should visit the UK as he is ‘the leader of a free world’ and that free speech should be supported.
As of 10am this morning, 553 people from the Fareham constituency had signed the petition (0.55 per cent of the total population), while 526 from Havant put their name down.

Hide AdThere were 525 signatures from the Gosport constituency, 495 from Portsmouth North and 446 from Portsmouth South.
More than 260,000 people across the country have signed the petition so far.
It says: ‘Donald Trump should be invited to make an official state visit because he is the leader of a free world and U.K. is a country that supports free speech and does not believe that people that appose our point of view should be gagged.’
The website says Parliament will debate the petition on February 20.

Hide AdIt comes after more than 1.8 million people signed a petition to prevent Trump from making a state visit to the UK.
The government is required to respond to all petitions on the site which receive more than 10,000 signatures.
