PENNY Mordaunt is calling for local people to enter a nationwide technology competition.

The Portsmouth North MP is backing TalkTalk’s Digital Heroes Awards, which has £65,000 worth of funding available for 12 projects in 12 regions across the UK.

It will be allocated to recognise and reward people who are using technology to help their communities.

The awards, now in their fifth year, have provided funding and support to 49 organisations across Britain, including various charities.

Ms Mordaunt said: ‘Digital Heroes is a wonderful initiative which recognises the people who have worked hard to champion digital technology and made a difference to their community.’

Visit before September 14 to enter.
