SHOPPERS picking up bargains in a charity shop were surprised to find themselves being served by their MP.
Fareham MP Suella Fernandes spent an afternoon working at the Rowans Hospice shop in Titchfield, one of a number of stores operated in support of the Purbrook-based charity.
Miss Fernandes said: ‘Our local charities do such great work, and their stores are an important way of helping them raise money.
‘The Rowans is a particularly valuable facility for the whole area, and means a lot to many local people.
‘I wanted to make a small contribution and I’m grateful to the manager Sue Reeves for letting me loose in her shop – I hope I was more help than hindrance.’
