MP takes tour of building society

Portsmouth South MP Flick Drummond visited the Nationwide Building Society branch in Southsea where she met the team, toured the site and learned about the services on offer.

One Mrs Drummond saw in action was Nationwide Now, a high-definition video link to Nationwide financial consultants around the country.

It allows customers to complete mortgage applications and attend financial planning appointments at a time that suits them, without having to wait for an in-branch consultation.

Mrs Drummond said: ‘It was a pleasure to be invited to my local Nationwide branch in Southsea yesterday.

‘My constituents value being able to visit their local branch and it’s important financial providers keep up their presence.

‘Technology doesn’t have to replace people, and it’s refreshing to see how Nationwide is using it to improve its existing services.

‘It was a highly enjoyable day and I hope to visit our branch in Southsea again soon.’

Nationwide is spending £500m on its branch network.
