Multi-million pound housing scheme for older people in Portsmouth opens
Residents and staff at Maritime House, which is owned and managed by Housing & Care 21, were joined by representatives from Portsmouth City Council as they celebrated at a ceremony.

Hide Ad‘Extra care apartments allow older people to maintain their independence, socialise with others and be part of a community as well as have access to flexible care facilities on site, should they need them.’
Cllr Luke Stubbs, cabinet member for health and social care at the council added: ‘These apartments enable older people to live independently, socialise and be part of a community, which is important and has a beneficial effect on their well-being.’
The £10.2m extra care scheme in Conan Road, has 80 self-contained one and two-bedroom flats with support and care services on-site and communal facilities, including a restaurant, salon and well-being centre.
The development was built by Bouygues UK on behalf of Housing & Care 21 in partnership with the city council.
