New Havant business hub Dunsbury Park is '˜open to the world'

Dunsbury Park, a developing business hub next to Junction 3 of the A3(M) in Havant, was officially unveiled to businesses and letting agents at Land Rover BAR’s headquarters in Old Portsmouth yesterday.

The ceremony followed the announcement that clothing brand Fat Face is to move into the first unit at the Portsmouth City Council-owned park.

Businesses were pointed to potential use of warehouse, manufacturing and office space ranging from 20,000 to 200,000 sq ft.

It is hoped that around 3,500 jobs will be created at the park by new businesses.

Speaking at the launch, Councillor Donna Jones, leader of the city council, said: ‘Dunsbury Park will really be a great opportunity for businesses looking to relocate to the UK and for those who want to be close to the capital and the Solent corridor.

‘It is one of the newest business parks in the country and will be one of the closest in the Home Counties to London.

‘Businesses will also be able to benefit from its proximity to the ports we have here and to Southampton Airport.’

A further seven units for industrial or office use are being advertised for the site, with another 60,000sq ft reserved for a potential hotel.

Cllr Jones said that ‘a range of businesses’ is being looked at for the site, with the council ‘happy to be flexible’ to accommodate different industries.

John Allan, a director at commercial agent GVA, which is promoting the site, said: ‘Today is about telling the world that Dunsbury Park is open for business.

‘A lot of hard work has gone into making it all a reality, which has culminated in Fat Face being the first occupants.

‘We have already had some strong interest in the park and it’s good as we have a blank canvas here that we are looking to fill.

‘It’s a big deal for Portsmouth and it has required a lot of investment from the council to make it happen.

‘Now, we just need to get the businesses into the park.’
