THE European Recycling Company has taken over the running of textile recycling banks on Fareham Borough Council land.

From the start of this month, new blue banks will be replacing the old ones, which were run by a variety of charities.

When the council announced it was to take over the running of the banks on its land, the move proved controversial. But councillors said money raised would be used for charitable causes.

Cllr Leslie Keeble, who is in charge of streetscene matters, said: ‘The European Recycling Company will be working hard to make sure your old clothing is put to the best possible use.’
