THE MPs representing the Portsmouth region have yet to reveal who they will back to take over from David Cameron as prime minister.
Tory parliamentary representatives were yesterday tight-lipped over who they want to see take up the role.
High-profile figures in the running include Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Jeremy Hunt and Liam Fox.
Nominations by Conservative MPs have to be in by noon on Thursday.
Portsmouth North MP and armed forces minister, Penny Mordaunt, who the bookies have put down as 55-1 to take over from Mr Cameron, said she remained ‘focused’ on her own duties.
She said: ‘I’m focused on my job, but will of course be considering who is the best person for the country to take things forward.’
