Petition with 10,000 signatures aims to save Sure Start Centres
A PETITION with 10,000 signatures has been handed in to the county council to show support for children's centres.
Save Our Children’s Centre (Socc) Hampshire have been campaigning after Hampshire County Council revealed a proposal to turn 54 Sure Start centres into 11 district hubs.
The petition was given to Councillor Keith Manns, the executive member for children’s services.
Around 100 people also held a protest outside the county council’s offices..
A decision on the future of the Sure Start centres will be made on July 1.
