TENS of thousands of pounds will be spent on refurbishing a playground in time for summer.

King George V play area, in Warsash Road, Warsash, will receive a complete revamp ahead of the summer holidays, costing £70,000 paid for out of contributions from developers.

The area has been designed using feedback from residents and suggestions from the pupils of Locks Heath Junior School.

The play area will be closed to allow the works to take place from the middle of May until June.
