Portsmouth and Southampton plan to create lottery for cash-strapped organisations
Councillor Luke Stubbs, Tory deputy leader of Portsmouth City Council, has held talks with officers to see how the proposal can go ahead.
The authority now plans to produce a report looking into how organisations could benefit and cabinet members will pour over its details after the local elections next month.
A similar scheme is set to be launched in Southampton.

Cllr Stubbs said: ‘We held an internal meeting and made various agreements over what we will look into. Nothing gets done the same day.
‘The whole purpose of the motion was to ask for a report and that’s what will be developed.’
