FREE entry could be on the cards at a popular museum.

Councillors at Chichester District Council will discuss whether The Novium, in Tower Street, should be made free for everyone.

The current admission prices are £7 for adults and £16.50 for a family ticket.

Since the museum opened two years ago, the council has been looking for ways to offer free entry.

A new business strategy that explores ways this could be achieved will be discussed at the next cabinet meeting.

Councillor Myles Cullen, in charge of commercial services, said: ‘We have listened to our visitors and have been working on ways that would enable us to make the museum free for everyone. Our museum team has been carrying out a great deal of work behind the scenes and has put us in a position where we can explore alternative forms of funding.’

Donations will still be encouraged if the plan goes ahead.
