PORTSMOUTH City Council has agreed to loan more than £1 million to the company which runs the Pyramids leisure centre.

The council decided this afternoon that it would pay the money to assist Southsea Community Leisure with cashflow problems.

But a major condition of the loan is that one of the company’s two directors, Simon Jervis, is removed from his position and that the council can appoint three directors to assist the centre’s managing director Gary Milne.
