PEOPLE are being urged to make sure they are on the electoral register in time to have their say in the May elections.

National and local elections will be held on May 7 but only those on the electoral register will be able to vote.

During February East Hampshire District Council is sending out a form to every household in the district to encourage as many voters as possible to sign up.

Returning officer Tom Horwood said: ‘Being registered to vote not only gives you the right to vote in elections but could also improve your credit rating.’
