Repair work on damaged sea defences in Southsea is completed

WORK to repair the damaged sea defences at Southsea seafront has now been completed.

The promenade, which has been closed since Boxing Day, has now been reopened.

Portsmouth City Council, the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership, Colas and Mackley have worked to stabilise and then repair the sea defences after a hole appeared.

Councillor Rob New, cabinet member for environment and community safety, said: ‘I am really pleased that the emergency repair work has been completed on time.’
