ONE of the proposed sites for the Sherlock Holmes attraction is Portsmouth’s Northern Quarter, which is due for completion in 2018.
As reported, developer Centros is leading the retail development.
Steve Pitt, of Portsmouth Cultural Partnership, said having it there could be a key selling point to visitors.
‘If I was a developer, trying to drive a visitors’ economy in the 21st century, I’d want to make sure there was a good attraction that would draw people in,’ he said.
‘When people go to Gunwharf Quays to shop, they have the Spinnaker Tower there as well, so I think there is an opportunity potentially for the Northern Quarter.’
Other sites across the city are also being looked at.
