COUNCILLORS decided against taking enforcement action after solar panels were put up in a conservation area.

They went against officers’ recommendations to take action after 14 panels were installed without permission on a barn near a 300-year-old cottage in Langstone High Street.

Cllr Keast, who sits on the committee, said: ‘We did not feel it set a precedent or was demonstratively harmful to the conservation area.’
