Still time to have your say on public spending

MPs will discuss cystic fibrosis drug during debate on Monday

Have your say

PORTSMOUTH residents have only a few days left to voice their views on the way the city council spends its money.

The authority has been finding out what people think through neighbourhood forum meetings.

The results of the consultation, which closes on Tuesday, will be considered when the 2014/15 budget is set. Council leader Gerald Vernon-Jackson said: ‘Everybody knows council finances are very, very tough, but it’s useful to know what people think our priorities should be in terms of the services we provide, and what ideas they have about how we can run services better and more efficiently.

‘Thank you to the many people who have taken the time to respond to this consultation so far and given their views. We will be looking at each response in detail.

‘If you have any views on council services or finances and have any ideas on how we can be more efficient and effective, please let us know in the next few days.’

People are being asked how they think the council could become more efficient and what services could be cut or protected. Suggestions can be sent to
