Strong West Sussex links for new council chief executive

A NEW chief executive has been appointed at a county council.

Nathan Elvery, who is currently the chief executive of the London borough of Croydon, will take up the position at West Sussex at the end of June.

Mr Elvery has strong connections to the county and extensive experience in local government, with a career spanning nearly 30 years.

He said: ‘I’m truly delighted to have been offered this exciting role and I am very much looking forward to working with colleagues across the county.

‘West Sussex has always had a special place in my heart. I feel honoured to be able to take on this role and to be able to drive forward the vision and strategy which is already in place.’

Council leader, Cllr Louise Goldsmith, said: ‘West Sussex has a bright and challenging future ahead and I look forward to working with Nathan and all our dedicated politicians and staff to achieve our ambitions for this great county.’
