AN MP is urging people to head to her event for senior citizens as she bids to tackle loneliness and isolation.
Suella Fernandes, the MP for Fareham is holding a senior citizens fair, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Fareham Meon, on November 25.
The fair at St John the Evangelist Church Hall in Upper Saint Michael’s Grove will showcase a wide range of groups who offer a variety of pastimes and hobbies for residents to get involved with, including Zumba classes.
Miss Fernandes said: ‘All too often we hear about the problems that can accompany the ageing process, including loneliness and isolation, and in my opinion all too little is being done to tackle these issues.
‘I have therefore decided to host a fair to bring together the huge variety of interest and activity groups we having in our community.’
Miss Fernandes will meet visitors at the free event which will take place from between 3pm to 5.30pm.
