ROADS are under the spotlight as Hampshire County Council asks for drivers’ views.

The council wants to know what people think of its policies on road maintenance and traffic management.

Comments are invited on the Traffic Management Policy, which determines the authority’s use of measures such as speed limits, traffic signs, parking restrictions, pedestrian crossings and traffic calming.

The policy outlines the circumstances in which measures can be used and criteria that need to be met.

Drivers and residents can also comment on the Highways Maintenance Management Plan.

The consultation runs until October 6 and is available online.

Comments received will be taken to the environment and transport select committee.

The document will then be adopted and approved in 2014 after a period of further consultation.
