PUBLIC loos in a village will be demolished and rebuilt by a developer.

Councillors at Fareham Borough Council gave permission to Southampton Hill Development, the developer of houses in Southampton Hill, to demolish the toilets at Barry’s Meadow in Titchfield and rebuild them.

The developer will replace the toilets in return for buying part of the site from the council for £1. It will use the land to build garages and storage.

Council leader Sean Woodward said the new loos would be an improvement to the existing 30-year-old block.
