Transport lead happy with £440,000 grant

A CASH injection for transport infrastructure will be spent on connecting the county.

Hampshire County Council’s executive member for transport, Councillor Rob Humby, welcomed the £440,000 government funding to tackle a ‘reliance on cars’.

The same amount of cash was given to Portsmouth City Council to spend on transport.

Cllr Humby said: ‘If people consider changing the way they travel for some or part of their journeys, this could have a significant impact on congestion levels, journey time reliability, and – if they are cycling or walking – their health, wellbeing and budget.’
