Trump v Clinton -5: Updates from Portsmouth USA
With five days to go before the Presidential election, there's an indication in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, of how some Republicans past and present remain deeply concerned about the '˜Grand Old Party' candidate Donald Trump.
In a letter that the Portsmouth Herald headlines ‘NH GOP needs to disavow Trump’ reader Cate Svedson says: ‘As a former Republican, I am frightened by what I hear coming from Trump and the GOP. I have switched to being an independent because I cannot condone Trump’s rhetoric and everything that he stands for. But not supporting Trump goes beyond voting; it also means we hold Trump and the GOP accountable.‘
In the naval port of Portsmouth, Virginia, the Virginian-Pilot reports a lively debate over a teacher’s costume for a Halloween event in Staunton, Va. - Hillary Clinton in a prison costume.
The paper says: ‘The superintendent of Staunton City Schools says no one has complained directly to her office about a high school secretary dressing up as Hillary Clinton in an orange prison jumpsuit for Halloween.
‘However, several people have taken to social media to express concern about the costume after a picture of the secretary appeared on Robert E. Lee High School’s website. The photo also showed the school principal, who was dressed as Donald Trump.’
